Hey there, bought a brand new BENQ GW2765 monitor to get some sweet 1440P action but it might be faulty, but it might be my Graphics card? kind of doubtful because the specs of my graphics card state it has a max native resolution of 2560 x 1600 (http://www.cnet.com/products/xfx-radeon-hd-4350-graphics-card-radeon-hd-4350-512-mb-series/specs/)

tried all outputs HDMI doesnt list 1440P as an option, DVI-D has gets really pixelated and distorted when the text is small in 1440 P..

any thoughts on this? im close to taking it back, for 600$ I didnt expect these headaches.... but if its the graphics card I might get a new one for my next system...

thanks for any input!

Solution

I just saw you posted the video card:
1) That card does NOT support HDMI above 1080p
2) That card doesn't really support 1440P either, it technically does but I can barely get it to reliably do 2x 1080p

You should just get a new video card, no 1440p monitor is going to work all that well on that thing! I highly suggest a 750ti, it should be a drop in replacement for the 4350 and will handle 1440p and even 4K monitors just fine over DP
ok so my video card doesnt have a display port output so will a display port to HDMI adapter solve that problem? when I use HDMI I dont even have the option to use 1440P.. . . wonder why that is?

Solution
that makes total sense, I skimped on the video card because I do 99% audio work and its fanless.. . I will buy a good videocard and come back and confirm that this solution works.. . thanks a lot for your input, I misunderstood the specs I think
