I've just got a DVI-D cable in order to use the 144hz setting. It allows me to select the setting but when I do the display is all blurry and a message comes up saying I need to use the cable that came with the monitor in the box. Is this the only way or can I get around this?

What is you monitor, cable and graphics card part/model numbers?

What is the rest of your specs?

I'm assuming that you have attached the monitor cable to the graphics card output, not the motherboard video output?

That cable SPECIFICALLY says in the description, "supports 60hz refresh rate up to 1080p". It is likely that it does not support dual link 144hz connections. You need a different cable if you linked to the right product.

You need a Dual-Link DVI cable Did the monitor not come with a cable?

yeh it did come with one but i currently do now have access to this as im not in the same location as it. Can you confirm if this cable would be good enough

Yes, that is a dual link cable.
