no company made a 2560x1440 120hz monitor because it's very unlikely that we can get 120 fps at that resolution, even with dual GPU.

haha no one will believe this!

You'll only get around 56 fps with a single GTX 780! Provided that u play the game on ultra settings.
On high settings, probably around 58 - 60 fps.

I'm presuming that first bit of ragefest was supposed to be aimed at me, as well?

I've owned one of those Overlords, and an Iiyama 1440p monitor, and a BenQ XL2420T. Did you have the BenQ actually running at 120hz? Did you enable lightboost? Did you calibrate the colors of both monitors?

I can tell you that the BenQ, in terms of fluidity, blows both those other monitors out of the water. In my samples, at least, the BenQ also had better color and way better blacks than the Overlord. The Iiyama beat both, but was only 60Hz.

Most people are straight-up missing the motion blur reduction implementation. It's a manufacturer supported strobed backlight that turns off the backlight during redraw. This is spectacular at reducing motion blur. While G-Sync sounds awesome, in it's first iteration, they've already stated that it will be incompatible with this implementation of motion blur reduction. So you still have to pick one or the other. And IPS is (as stated by others above) incompatible with both.

tl;dr: IPS, Zero motion blur, or G-Sync. Pick one and only one.

Don't dis a TN panel, especially with lightboost. My XL2420T looks incredible, and has very, very good blacks. Also, the fact that it's 120Hz and has lightboost... that at least balances out against an ips panel - it comes down to being a matter of preference for speed, or slightly better colour.

No, I'm afraid you showed your lack of knowledge by not even reading what I said.

You only confirm what I've stated about IPS in that it provides a superior visual experience. That's why IPS is used for high quality displays that graphics pros use. (I've got two Dell U2713 panels that are 1440p and 27" to attest to that fact)

IPS always looks better than TN, there is no disputing that fact. However, TN panels still exist because they have faster performance than IPS panels, also another fact that cannot be disputed. This is the reason TN panels are common for gaming only monitors.

You obviously recognize the quality of an IPS panel but you aren't a gamer concerned with performance. If you want to learn more about panel performance you should visit sites like Blur Busters and 120hz and upgrade yourself.
