BenQ XL2411Z 144Hz issue

So i have this monitor for almost a year and it was working perfectly for about 8 months . At some point it started losing "connection" randomly so i thought it might be that cables fault and i bought a knew one . For 1 month it worked fine but then my gfx card died and i bought a gtx 1060 . Last night it started losing connection again with this message on the bottom right - Incorrect cable. Please use the dual link DVI cable that came with your monitor - so i went today and bought a new cable again just like the old one and now i can only get 60hz without going blurry. ( i can still go on 144hz but its really blurry , same as using single link dvi )

Cant find anyone with the same issue on this page please help.
Ive tried updating monitor drivers/gfx drivers/windows update.

ive got a gigabyte gtx 1060 6gb and the psu is the vs650 corsair

D-sub / DVI-DL / HDMIx2 on the video card, with specs looking like this;
Hor. Frequency (KHz)‎ VGA/HDMI:15kHz~83KHz DVI-DL/DP: 30~140KHz‎
Ver. Frequency (Hz)‎ VGA/HDMI: 24Hz~120Hz DVI-DL/DP: 56~144Hz‎

have you tested the monitor using the HDMI connection?

thought hdmi cant go past 60hz am i wrong on that?
will try tomorrow since its already past midnight will let you know if it works

sorry the hor/ver specs are from monitor not video card.

HDMI can only support 120Hz, and even then, only with version 1.4b or 2.0. but will do 120hz and be a test to see if it is port (ie video card) or monitor flaking on you)

ok so i tried the hdmi cable i can go up to 120hz on 1440x900 without being blurry .

what happens at higher resolution ?
