Benq XL2420G color banding, please help!

Hi, i just bought this ew Benq Xl2420G but right now im not using gsync because my gtx650 ti doesnt support gsync. After plugging in the monitor i immediately notice extreme color banding on photos, desktop, steam, photoshop etc. Im wondering if someone can help me solve this.

You're only getting 18 bit so of course there's banding, that's 260k colors.

If it's a setting that I'm missing then I wouldn't know.

How did you know that i was getting 18bit? where can i find that?

6 bits per channel, R G B = 18 bit. 24 bit = 8 bit per channel. It's just a more accurate way of talking about color palettes. In layman's as it's common now to just say 6 bit, is that it's got over 16 million colors less than 8 bit. Color banding is normal when you don't have that many colors, in this case 260k.

But i think my monitor is 8 bit, before i got this monitor i was using a dell u2412m ips and the colors are flawless

so you mean all this Benq Monitors are 6bit? but this links shows it's 8bit according to BenQ

They're lying, If a monitor is 6 bit + FRC to simulate 8 bit, they'll just list it as 8 bit. If what they were saying was true, then you wouldn't spot banding.

No, there's nothing you can do. For the record and future purchases, following specs are always lies:

Color
Contrast
Viewing angle
Response time

i've been searching for a reason why my xl2411p colors look so bad for weeks, you've explained it perfectly!
How can people review these monitors and not talk about how terrible the color banding is...
