Hi all,

I am currently attempting to build the PC I mentioned in my earlier posts. The part list is below:

Montech Air 100 ARGB mATX case

AMD Ryzen 5 7600X

Cooler Master MasterLiquid 240L Core ARGB

Kingston Fury Beast RGB 32GB (2x16, 6000MT/s)

Kingston NV3 1TB M.2-2280 PCIe Gen 4 (windows and game drive now as the other drive won’t fit)

PSU: Corsair RMe 750W 80+ Gold Fully Modular

Basically what happened is that the header for the front panel USB 3.0 ports now has a bent pin on it (which is now stopping the cable from going in). The actual header wasn’t placed vertically so it made for a difficult angle when trying to plug the cable in (which we assume caused the pin to bend).

Is there any way to recover from this (e.g trying to bend the pin back again) or would I need to do the last resort and purchase a new mobo?

Might want to pass on a picture to show the extent of the damage/bend and if it's salvageable. Usually the pin being bent back into place will cause it to snap off. you could desolder and resolder the pin but chances are it might get worse for everything else around it.

Ok, I’ll get a picture at some point. I think i would potentially be able to go without using the ports themselves though (it only powers two usb ports on the front panel). But if not then I’d probably have to just replace the mobo.
