[SOLVED] Bent IO Shield Tab

So basically what happened was I probably didnt push all the way down on the ethernet tab while i was unplugging it from the motherboard and bent the IO shield tab that goes into the ethernet port out of the case. The port still works fine and the cable still clicks into place. I know you can bend the tabs slightly to make for better fitting. However I was wondering if leaving it the way it is will cause any problems to the motherboard down the line like static shorting the board or something like that. I couldn’t find anything specific to my situation and all other posts about IO shield tabs are 50/50 on bending/ cutting the tabs in general.

first time builder so I’m worried about damaging components from lack of experience.

As long as it's not touching any other metal, it should be fine. I wouldn't worry about it.
