awhile ago(last year) i bent a pin on the usb 3.0 port on my motherboard while plugging it in, i haven't dealt with it since ive always had plenty of ports open on the back of my motherboard and due to a faulty thermal take case that they wont even reply to help me fix, the two usb 2.0 ports on the front of the case dont work, but i need the two 3.0 ports to work that are on the case, any idea if i could pry the bent pin back straight? im not sure how brittle they are(didn't seem to brittle when it bent.)

oculus rift cv1 requires 2x usb3.0 ports and in only have two in the back open, no room for my external hdd which i have plugged in and using quite often.

Solution
I would first remove any power from the Mobo, so unplug your system from the wall and give it about 15 min to lose any capacitor charge that might be present. If you can, relatively easily, get to the bent pin, you should be able to bend it back. If you all goes will you should be able to use it again.

ok i hate bad language but, O MY SHIT IT WORKED. i had three pins bent, bottem right was smashed against the right side of the port cage thing, second from the left top was half smashed to the bottem and stuck against the pin right below it(they were both in the same slot because of it, there was no gab between) and the very top left pin was completely smashed into the top left corner and ended up breaking off, couldnt even get floss under it to pull it up. thanks guys SO HAPPY. transfer speed didn't slow down, still transfering files at 220mb/second
