Hey!

So recently I have been really interested in upgrading my monitor. What I am looking for is a IPS monitor since it has amazing colors which would still be good for gaming. 1440p or even 4k would be great. I mainly play games like Battlefield and Total War, Wargame, Fifa, and similar other games. I know 120 hz is the best for FPS ,but I have heard that there are IPS monitors that can hit 100 hz or even 120 hz with losing only very little quality. Is this true? Can you really reach 100-120 hz using an ips?

At the moment, I don't have a budget, first I just want to see what I can get to get as close as possible to my "wants". 2K would be better than 4k since I doubt my single 7970 OC could power 4k while getting a decent frame rate.

So what I am mainly looking for is amazing picture quality, 1440 x 2560, as high as possible refresh rate, and a reliable brand/ warranty service. No pirated brands please.

So far by browsing some forums I have looked at this http://www.amazon.com/QNIX-QX2710-Evolution-LED-Monitor/dp/B00BUI44US.
The specs and reviews are pretty good ,but... can you overclock it to a high refresh rate without losing a lot of quality?

Please just post any recommendations.

Edit * Minimum bleeding.

They all use LG panels. and that Achieva is a great deal and I love that price, think I spent about $400 on mine. I'd say go with it!

*Edit- I do remember paying extra for mine because I got the "perfect pixel guarantee" I would advise you doing the same if you have OCD about having every last pixel. I heard that when there one or two pixels dead on a 1440p monitor that you can't notice unless you're an inch away, but its up to you.

Plus it is 1.5 ms faster than the QNIX. They also come with perfect pixel at $350. But they examine the monitor 50cm away lol . Doesn't make much sense. But ya I think I'm really interested in the Shimian there. I just hope I won't get an "Import" invoice with the delivery man.

Thanks for the recommendation ,but as I stated earlier $800 is a little bit too high... But thanks for the suggestion anyways, I always appreciate any help from the community. And as you said you didn't have time to read through it so no worries.

Alright guys, I picked up the Asus pb279q and I must say it is truly amazing. Coming from a low end 21.5 inch TN panel I am blown away by this thing. On Battlefield 4 on Ultra I do not see any lag at 2k which is amazing. I thought 7970 crossfire would only give me that magic.

I seem to have 5 dead pixels so I'm going to have to return it and get a new one again. I was fortunate though to get this for $520 though. Seemed like a good price and since my old monitor happened to die, it came out quite well.

Thanks again ,all of you, for helping me out in choosing an amazing monitor. I have never seen such amazing detail and colors.
Cheers!

Wow just exchanged it and now I have 11 DEAD pixels.... Makes me start to question Asus's quality control. Is this normal to have so many dead pixels on a monitor known as "The best monitor on the market" ????

I could only see around 5 just by sitting around a meter away (Still a lot). I could only see the rest with a magnifying glass ,but still a $700 monitor should be PERFECT.

Let's just say my Yamakasi Q270 on the first try has 0 dead pixels.. ASUS is getting lazy on their QC if that's the case.

I just exchanged the one with the dead pixels and this new one is finally pixel perfect. I'm glad though that I was able to purchase it from a local retailer since returning it twice online would have been tough.

Strange thing, I thought that some black specks were dead pixels ,but the guy just rubbed it quite hard and it disappeared. I obviously tried to do that myself but I guess I didn't rub hard enough lol .

So disregard the 11 pixels... it was only 1 right in the middle. At least I know next time that I need to rub it quite considerably before inspecting for dead pixels lol.

No regrets now :)

Well, I've never had dead pixels grow on my monitors, but I baby mine.. I never have myself or anyone else touch the screen and always turn it off when ever I don't use it, and mine gets a lot of use throughout the week. If you plan on bringing the monitor on trips or what not then get a warranty. If you plan to keep the monitor stationary on your desk for the rest of its life, then the warranty is not necessary (assuming there are no kids/pets around that can potentially damage it).
