I've had an ASUS M5A97 motherboard for a long time now, I was wondering what I should upgrade it to. The computer will mostly be used for gaming, with the preference of AMD. I'm also planning on upgrading other parts of the computer. Let me know if more information is needed.

Specs:
Motherboard: ASUS M5A97
Processor: AMD FX-4100 Quad Core Processor Socket AM3+ (942)
Graphics: AMD Radeon HD 7850 GPU
Power Supply: Thermaltake TR2 600W 2.3V

I would not upgrade like that. Especially since upgrading the motherboard isn't going to give you any practical benefit.

The two biggest pieces to a gaming computer are the CPU and GPU. Generally I like to do upgrades in two phases - the CPU, which then dictates what motherboard to get, along with the RAM if it needs it.
...and then the GPU, which can sometimes dictate a power supply or case upgrade, and is also usually when I upgrade hard drives and such, if I plan on it.

I figured it was time to start upgrading. Where do you think I should start?
