Best 64gb memory for my laptop?

I have this laptop http:// with this ddr4 2800 ram http:// when I installed the ram its running at 2400 according to cpu-z and intel xtu. I was able to "overclock" the ram to its advertised speed of 2800 using intel xtu, it booted, and shortly after reset/blue screen. http:// then it seemed to be working without issue so i ran hci design MemTest throughout the night. http:// everything seemed well with that, so then i ran windows memory diagnostic via Extended option under Test Mix: it got to 21% complete of pass 1 of 2 (10% overall) after 6 hours.

In the meantime eurocom support actually answered one of my emails with:

"I would never buy Gskill RAM.
It is third party CRAP ram.
There is no REAL 2800 Ram on the market.
I would suggest Micron P/N: CT16G48FD824A.16FA1
As that is what we use."

but I was unable to find this part number they speak of, then I asked them about the corsair vengeance http:// and kingston hyperX impact http:// kits and the reply was:

"Hyper X 2400 only 8GB sticks work.
Corsair 16GB 2133 and 2400 also works."

So im super confused as to whether I should (a) keep what I have, or return and (b) buy the faster and assumingly more compatible 2400 hyperX impact ram (faster because of the lower latency) that supposedly only the 8GB sticks work, why would the 16GB sticks not work? that makes 0 sense to me? or (c) buy the slightly slower corsair 2400.

Yes, you will run into problems in the future. It is inevitable. Everybody runs into problems sooner or later.

Whether you'll have trouble with your memory modules, I don't know. Nobody can say what might happen. All I CAN say is if it passed several hours of Prime on blend mode, then it's stable, and if those were the same settings you had it at and you passed with no errors, and passed Memtest for at least two passes, then I'd say it's as good as can be expected. Does that mean you'll never have issues. Pffft. No. But for now I think you've done mainly all you can. Keep in mind, most memory manufacturers provide lifetime warranties on their modules. Corsair, Kingston, Geil, G.Skill and Mushkin all do for sure.

So if the memory turns out to have issues, it will be under warranty. As far as whether you have compatibility problems, all I can tell you is do what you've already done, which seems ok, or else go by the recommendations of the laptop manufacturer and switch those out for the Corsair modules. Either way, I think you'll be fine. And even if it defaulted back to 2400mhz, I really don't think it's a problem. The different in performance between them is minuscule.

I've stayed with the G.Skill, still running at 2800 and the laptop is beyond fast, seems plenty stable, thanks again for all of your help!

fwiw I also tested the kingston hyperx impact 64gb, the one that eurocom support said will only work with 8gb sticks, or 32gb ram total, and it worked flawlessly plug and play right out of the box 2400 @ 15-15-15-35 as advertised . ran prime95 and memtest too. I'd say eurocom has a good product but terribly unknowledgeable support, i hope this thread would help anybody buying a similar laptop in the future.
