Best affordable 17 inches LCD/LED monitor within 150 usd

Hello Folks,

I need to change my CRT monitor with a LCD/LED one. Can someone suggest me
a 17 inch LCD monitor (square or rectangular). As i am a noob please do also let me know
what are the important parameters that should be kept in mind while selecting a
monitor. Here are my system specs :
Processor : 2.8Ghz Intel Pentium
4GB RAM
OS : Win 7 64 bit.
Motherboard : ASUS H61
If any other info needed please let me know.

is this a desktop or a laptop? the specs you give point to your CPU being a mobile one.

If you are looking for a 17" monitor, there are no parameters to look for. Just get one if you can still find 17" monitors. You can probably find one for free people are giving those away.

what according to you should be the size that i should look for ?

20"-25" is pretty standard for 1080P monitors. Like Garaski said though if you wanted a smaller one you may find one for next to nothing, the hospital I work at just tossed a few 19" LCD models away.

define "not very wide" are you trying to look for a monitor size like your old CRT which would be in 4:3?.
