I'm planning on upgrading to AM4, since my currently only supports a very outdated socket (FM2+) I'm also looking for a Motherboard that doesnt require a bios update to run with Ryzen, since I dont have any other AM4 CPU

Hey there,

Recommending a mob is straight forward enough, but it would help to know what other specs/hardware you use or intend to use.

Also, what kind of build. Small Form Factor (SFF), ITX, ATX? Do you have a budget for a build?

I intend to run a Ryzen 5 2600 on it and im looking for a Micro ATX mobo

Below $150 you can buy any board , just make sure it has sufficient amount of usb ports and atleast a cheap heatsink on VRMs. Asus , MSI have some boards without heatsink which are really bad. Avoid those and you should be fine. Also if you plan to upgrade from 2600 to an 8core it will not be possible on boards in this price range. For avoiding BIOS updates you can check the MAX series of board from MSI (There may be other companies with upgraded BIOS ).

Both are pretty decent.

I like Asus myself, and some of the MSI MAX mobo's are also a good bet. They pretty decent, specially the Tomahawk.
