Best AMD cpu for gtx 680?

My amd phenom II x6 1090T is giving me all sorts of problems, so I am wondering what AMD cpu is the best that wont bottleneck me.

I'm new to this whole problem, but I was looking at this

would this be enough for the gtx 680? or do I need something better?

The CPU you have now is AM3, the CPU you posted is AM3+. Some AM3 boards will support AM3+ CPU's with a bios update, are you sure yours does ?

Can you please list complete system specs including power supply and monitor resolution (not size).

Yes I recommend the all but I would get the FX 6300 and OC it.

Your motherboard is indeed compatible with AM3+ CPU's thanks for linking it makes life so much easier.
Gaming wise there is little difference between a FX 6300 and the FX 8320 or FX 8350.
If you have the funds then going straight for the FX 8350 will give you the best of both gaming performance and encoding performance with minimal fuss.
if you are on a budget and are willing to overclock then a FX 6300 with a decent cooler should (nothing is a given with overclocking all chips are different) overclock to withing a whisker of i5 3570 stock performance, which is enough for any GPU.

well in certain areas of the witcher 2 im geting 18fps, and my gpu usage is at 50% maximum

sounds like a cpu bottleneck to me...sooo i need a new cpu even if its a small increase...

i mean the witcher 2 is the only game im having trouble in so far, but people are saying that other games are having problems with the 1090T.

It just boggles my mind why my gpu usage is at 30% on the fucking witcher 2 but it is at least at 70& on every other graphically intense game....

i dun get it.

Is it possible to downgrade the witcher 2 to before EE? maybe this isnt a cpu problem at all, just shit coding.

If you'll please notice..The Thuban is at stock 3.4 or whatever..and the 8350 is @ 4 Ghz.

I did what you said and i basically just sat looking at the angle that causes my computer to shit itself (game was running at 19fps, lol)

my cpu usage was...pretty low too. most of the cores were between 25%-50% usage, but core 4 wasn't having a good time, it was nearly hitting 100%.

I just...don't...know anymore lol.

Start game > Ctrl+ALT+DEL ..open up task manager.. and uncheck affinity from cpu 0

If you'll please notice..The Thuban is at stock 3.4 or whatever..and the 8350 is @ 4 Ghz.Now when you overclock the Thuban to 4 Ghz..it actually surpasses the FX chip in most things..definitely in single-threaded things.Overclocking greatly increases the performance;moreso in the older chips than the new ones.
This chart for example..3.7 Deneb is better at 3Dm11 (gaming benchmark)than 8350

Yes, but that's a strawman, if you OC one, then OC the other...

FX8350 @ 5.0 GHz blows the doors off Thuban @ 4.0 GHz.
