That dude was fanboying it up is all LOL. I mean clock speed for two completely different architectures is irrelevant and not an apples to apples comparison. The only way to make the Phenom II chip look comparable in performance to a piledriver is to skew the numbers.

I gave up on the witcher 2 honestly. Screw getting a new CPU, the games not worth it.

If I can max bf3, metro 2033, gta IV w/ icenhancer, modded to hell and back skyrim, bfbc2, crysis 1, 2, and 3, then well it looks like it's the games problem.

The witcher 2 is an unoptimized piece of shit, case closed.

The witcher 2 runs like butter on my rig. The real problem here is why did you buy such a powerful GPU and not expect a CPU bottleneck ?

Actually the question is why doesn't the witcher 2 run like butter for me when every other game I have played does

If it is a bottleneck, then it is a witcher 2 exclusive bottleneck.

18 frames is how the game runs with Uber sampling on. Nobody has the issue you describe except you so ...

actually after looking around for a while there were a few, one guy got the best cpu on the market and still had the problems i have but on a smaller scale, the other had to go and install drivers all the way back from 2011, which I'm not going to do. Another guy confirmed that this issue started happening during the enhanced edition, and he too had a 680.

So fuck the witcher.

A 109-T is not the best CPU for a GTX 680 in fact it's not even close. I suggest an upgrade and all games will run better including the witcher 2.

So...let me get this straight...

You quote a modern benchmark earlier...and talk about how Thuban obliterates the 8350. When I point out your strawman argument, you trot out an old benchmark that has the results you're looking for...but you curiously dismiss 3dmark all of the sudden?

Now you're moving the goalposts.

I can find benchmarks where an i3 obliterates a thuban if I wanted to look for skewed results long enough...

Stop spreading misinformation.

The FX8350 is better than Thuban...especially in games...where all the benchmarks show the results favor the FX8350...

Just because wprime shows one result where a Thuban beat a FX8350 doesn't mean it isn't an anomaly...

It took me showing 4 different verifiable Crysis 3 benchmarks to prove the FX8350 was better than the i5-3570k to the intel fanboys. You should know how skeptical they are...

I will concede Bulldozer was not as good at gaming as Thuban architecture, but piledriver is better than Thuban.

This is also a possibility. There was a guy who had to go way way back in drivers for it to work properly...which I'm not going to do because I'd be basically sacrificing my whole library for one game.
