Hello, hope this is the right place for this query.

I have an external drive for photos that has accumulated multiple copies of the same directories/folders/subfolders. I want merge all of them into a single version before (or after) I eliminate all the duplicate files contained in them (probably using czakawka).

A additional complication is that the folders and subfolders are not necessarily at the same level (for instance, I might have D:\HP\Pictures\2022 and also D:\Asus\Pictures and Videos\Pictures\2022).

Can anyone suggest an easy process or app to merge these directories/folders/subfolders so that e.g. the two folders above are merged rather than duplicated, even though they are at different levels?

Thanks so much.

suggest an easy process or app to merge these
find the individual folders where the actual images are stored.

start cutting & pasting all images from one of these folders to the next
overwriting/replacing all duplicates.

when eventually you are down to the last folder,
cut & paste this folder(or just it's contents) to the location you want to keep these images.

then delete all empty / unused folders.

you can later go through and determine if there are duplicates with different filenames and just erase those unneeded.
