Best Budget Gaming Headset that supports 5.1 or 7.1

I understand that this has been asked a million times, but I'm hoping the fact that the market seems to change and that different people have different needs might warrant this thread.

Anyways, I've been trying to read up on budget gaming headsets, mostly to find that people seem to have an entirely different definition of 'budget' than I do and that people seem to disagree on what the best product is more than I'm used to for other products, such as motherboards or SSDs.

My motherboard's integrated audio supports up to 7.1 channel audio and I'd like to give that a try, but 5.1 will also work.

I'd also like to keep it under $50, but if something is much better than anything in that price range and is only a small amount more, I'd like to get that.

At the moment I'm strongly leaning towards the Plantronics GameCom 780 since it has 7.1 audio, is almost in my price range ($55 http://goo.gl/EJPTNr) and has a good mic.

I can also get the Creative Technology Sound Blaster Tactic3D ($22 http://goo.gl/xgnrs1) that supposedly has something equivalent to 7.1 (I don't know how true this is).

What are your thoughts?

That's a pretty decent amount out of my price range (40%). What makes it better than what I've currently posted? I mean, minus the fact that it's wireless.

Edit: Also, thoughts on this? The price almost seems to good to be true.

Edit2: Actually, there seem to be a ton of those priced around $20 that are all from China. Knockoffs?

Edit3: I went ahead and purchased a used Siberia V2 headset for $50 (including shipping).

I'll say it again: Most all 5.1/7.1 headsets are crap. Poor audio quality combined with poor positional quality makes a bad product.

My advice: Buy a $30 soundcard that supports Dolby Headphone, and pair with a decent stereo headset. Better positional cues and better audio quality to boot.
