Best budget home theater projectors under $500?

Hi all

Was hoping for some advice on what the best projector I can get for under $500 would be. The main uses for the projector would be watch movies on BluRay, as well as a sport on tv etc. I have been looking on eBay but my gut tells me they must be cheap and nasty, so thought id seek some proper advice before spending any money.

I know it's not a Panny but...

And regarding projectors... I really don't know too much about them and that's why I'm asking here!

ANY projector under $500 is gonna be a heap, honestly! So just take your pick. But I wouldn't even take a FREE projector if it's less than 1080p.

The problem with cheap projectors is that you need to have them in optimal conditions just to have a somewhat decent movie watching experience. For that budget getting a big tv would simply be better.

I've found projectorcental to be a good site to look at for projector related info. Though personally for me I'm waiting for the cost of laser projectors to come down a bit more before I jump on board.
