What are the best cpu/gpu combo's for running World of Warcraft right now for the highest possible frame rates, amd or intel.

/E Also would be looking to run dual monitors .. no streaminig or VR or anything of that nature

Budget?

I could give you WoW builds ranging from $500 (not including peripherals/Monitor or OS) to $2000+.

On the monitors are you going to be using both for WoW or one for gaming and the other for web/Netflix/etc?

If your using both for WoW then get a nice 21:9 ultrawide as WoW natively supports it and gives you a much more immersive experience then two monitors.

As a side note I wouldn't bother going above 60/75hz for WoW, the difference on higher FPS for MMO's is kind of pointless.

I plan to spend 2000-2500 including peripherals.
1 monitor for gaming, 1 for web browsing/netflix/etc.

Your budget is overkill for WoW. But this rig will play any AAA game. With a 35" monitor, you really dont need two monitors because it is like having two together with no bezel. I did not add mouse and keyboard, as these are really just personal preference.

I should of specified CAD not USD but I can figure out the difference.

How much of a performance difference is;
1070ti -> 1080ti
i5-8600k -> i7-8700k

WoW prefer's strong performance per core so if it came down to either the 8600K or 8700 (non K) I'd get the 8600K as a overclock to around 5+ghz will give you that better performance. As for the GPU I couldn't fit a 1080 ti into that budget however a 1070 with a 2560x1080P + 1080P secondary monitor is fine, the GPU will allow for ultra settings and combined with the overclocked 8600K I would think 75 FPS (to match the monitor) would be easily achievable and pretty stable.

Unless you want to stream, an 8600k is plenty for WoW, now and into the future. I am still playing with a 6700k, myself.

That would only be better, if the OP wanted to stream. For a straight up gaming/WoW rig, Intel is the better option. WoW has always favored Intel/Nvida. I would only recommend Ryzen, for WoW, when the budget dictates it, or the OP wants to stream.
