Best cards with VGA output

What are the most powerful GPU´s with VGA available (starting from Radeon HD 5000 series and GeForce 400 series)

In stores selling current hardware best I was able to find was R7 250 (but not 250X?) and GTX 750 Ti

I read something a while ago that mentioned that VGA and even DVI will be completed discontinued for all cards in the future, even the ondie gpu in Intel Skylake. Is this true, that not even low end cards will have DVI / VGA?

Using a DVI adapter is not optimal solution because my CRT only works on them if I turn it on connected to a true VGA port and then quickly connect it to a DVI adapter before it goes into standby mode and doing this every time is annoying.

While I think that VGA will eventually be discontinued, I doubt that DVI will. And, as long as DVI is available, you can adapt the signal easily to still utilize VGA with the handy dandy DVI-VGA adapter.

I'm a bit surprised that your monitor won't support the DVI adapter. I have a single old-school HP CRT monitor and it works fine attached to a Radeon 5450 with DVI-VGA adapter.

To be honest, you might be better off trading in the old school CRT and going with a nice LCD...

Yeah - looking around the 750 ti is the best out there. This one is pretty nice, has HDMI, dual DVI, and VGA. Should easily handle that old-school CRT and then you could add two more nice DVI/VGA LCD monitors for good measure.

Ok, I was hoping to find some of those older cards like GTX 480 or HD 5870 with VGA but even those didnt have it, I was able to find a GTX 560 Ti (only from Palit) with VGA port and it is slightly more powerful than a 750 Ti and also a lot cheaper.
Maybe there are other rare versions of more powerfull cards where the OEM decided to change the standard port count.
And no way im switching to an LCD that is inferior in almost every way to most CRT´s.

Guys i also want to know answer to this question because i'm stuck with a vga monitor for which adapters don't work so please help us!

As mentioned, the best one still available (from a power/power usage/modern gpu perspective) is still the GTX 750ti. Sub 75watt, decent performance, moderate price ($100ish USD).
