Edit: Why clock block an unlocked cpu with that mobo? Better to get a Z mobo or a non-k cpu.

Quite simple. OP doesn't want to OC, OC really is more of a hobby than a necessity, but for roughly the same price gets to enjoy the benefits of a stronger cpu. Quite a common practice, especially on older gens upgrade.

You certainly don't have to OC, but you've got the cooler to support it and I can tell you for certain OCing has helped limp my ancient CPU along. Still, it's due for a forklift upgrade.

Edit: One other thing, might consider faster RAM (3000-ish) if you can find a good deal. Not a massive difference, but a difference nonetheless.
