Question Best choice of MOBO for i9-12900K

Hello all,

Been sitting on my i7-8700K for a few years now and was looking to upgrade to the i9-12900K. With that I was looking for some recommendations for best choice of MOBO to accompany the switch.

I use an ATX sized board, current brand is Asrock but I have no issues with switching brand.

Main applications are gaming and 3D CAD software.

A Z690 chipset is what you need to look for. You should look into a dual channel DDR4-3600MHz as well to get the best out of your new platform. Speaking of platform, you're going to need a 360mm AIO if you want to go watercooling or a high end air cooler with ample airflow in your case. Budget for your board purchase? Where are you located and what sort of brands do you have access to?

For cooling I currently use a Noctua NH-D15S, also should mention I don't dabble too much in overclocking so my cooling needs aren't as urgent.

As far as budget I'd be comfortable staying under the $250 range.

I'm out of the US so I haven't had any trouble accessing any brands yet.
