So I plan on getting a cpu cooler, and at the minute i am looking at the h--- line from corsair. I am unsure which one is the best though. I have my eye on H100I GT, is it worth the money? Does anyone have the cooler, is it noisy?
The swiftech units are about the top of the line for closed liquid coolers. MUCH quieter than the H series from Corsair and cool much better. Even the H100i GTX is only as good at cooling as a$75 air cooler and is MUCH louder.

as above stated, quieter, but they also allow you to open the loop and expand to include the gpu or whatever else you want (more rads, res, etc). The pump is higher quality, as is the heatsink...
a lot of the other clc's also use mixed metals in their loop, which can lead to galvanic corrosion (bad)...
I have a 100i and you can regulate the fan speed via "LINK" software if you hook up the fans to the link unit instead of the motherboard.
As such it cools very well and can be made very quiet too.
How quiet may i ask, at idle my pc is a very soft hum, barely noticeable, im a bit concerned the pump will be very loud. Would you recommend the h100i? I do have plenty of room for a 280mm radiator is it worth getting on that large? Or will it just be noisy?

I dont plan on opening up the loop, and it is a little pricey for me. I think I have my eyes set on a decent cooler about £100 or less. The corsair coolers seem to meet this criteria and perform well, just undsure which ones will best suit my stesm, and preferably, which ones will be quietest
i find most clc's noticably noisier compared to a good air cooler, also more parts to fail (pump breaking, lines / rad leaking, fans failing) versus just the fan on air...
that being said, i will defer to others on the actual noise levels of the 100i, i've installed them, never had in my possession for extended periods.

i had an h80 --that was much louder than my expanded swiftech
if i turn on my external hard drive its literally louder than my loop
People always say you can switch the fans on the H100i for quieter ones, and while you can, that kills performance. NO matter what way you look at it, the stock fans are 77cfm. Anything quieter will move less are and therefore cool not as well. There are tests and tests and tests that prove this. No matter what, if you change the H100i fans, you will LOSE performance.

Okay, fair enough, so what is the best swift tech one?
I love the aesthetics of the corsair pumps though, they go perfectly wioth the rest of my system, so its a tough choice for me!

that's what I could find for swifttech on amazon!
thats the wrong one
you want h140x or h220x or h240x
cant get them in the uk
but can from highflow.nl who ship to the uk
with the pound strong against the euro i would guess the most expensive one would work out around the £150 mark or so
