Overclocking your GPU will give you a bit of a boost, but nothing major.

Unless you get a damn good price for your used 270x, you're unlikely to improve it for £100 - your current GPU new costs more than £100 after all.

While you have a darn good CPU (though you can't overclock it), your PSU is a limiting factor - it's a mediocre one.

It depends on how much it will improve my experience, if it really works so i can play games like BF4 and gta v better then i can probably spend £100

You can't overclock the 4690 unless you misstyped it and it is actually a 4690k. As far as upgrading performance, getting a new graphics card will help with fps but you might be able to overclock the 270x. Look into that first. If you can't overclock the graphics card, then getting a new one will be your best bet at higher fps.

Didn't mis-type, copied and pasted it. You're the second person to suggest a new graphics card so it looks like that might be the best option, i've heard there are risks with overclocking if you're inexperienced, should i get a professional to do it? I wouldn't know where to begin with overcloking.

Would not make a great difference. Tell me, how many frames-per-second do you achieve with your current build when playing GTA V and BF4? This is to get a sense of how much an improvement would be worth in terms of dollars. Given your budget is fairly limited to a hundred pounds, it may not be worth buying a new GPU before you can save up at least 170ish pounds for 280x 3GB. That would be the bare minimum GPU upgrade, in my opinion.

Thanks, i can afford a better gpu, it's just i don't think i use my pc enough for it to be worth it, i don't have battlefield 4 however a 'can you run it' website said i have the minimum but not recommended specs. I can get 60fps on GTA V but i turn anti aliasing to x2, textures high, and shadows medium, all that MSAA stuff is off.

Thanks, as i said to someone else on the thread i could afford a new GPU, i'm just not sure if i use my PC enough to justify spending that on it as I only got it last year, and i'm 14 so that moneys hard to come by on a few quid an hour lol. I dont think i'll overclock then because of the risks and quite frankly i don't know how, maybe i'll get a new GPU for my birthday or i'll buy one, is there a certain one you recommend that will handle games like bf4 and gta better? Thanks

The r9 280 is, like someone else said, the bare minimum upgrade. One thing you can do is go on YouTube and type in your specs and a game into the search to see game demos with similar specs to your computer. Getting higher frame rates may just be a matter of unoptimized settings. If you really want to upgrade, save as much as you can and get a card with at least 3 gb of vram. A good card for about $170 in the US is the r9 280 which has 3 gb of vram. But personally, I would turn down settings for now and save for an even better card in 6 months or so.

Thanks, i think that's what i'll do.
