Seems appropriate for your purpose.

Anything less than 120 Hz is just YUCK !!

I would like to see a larger selection of TN 1440p @ +120 Hz ... I don't think G-SYNC is worth the extra money atm.

Those actually exist? I must be looking in the wrong place...

(and that's excluding the RoG Swift, btw....)

I would like to see a BEST BUDGET option added, preferably at a $150 price target. There is no reason the budget shopper shouldn't get a decent panel. I get you already said no price targets but budget shoppers always have one.

i think real PC gamers are more in the $250-400 range.

Not true based on counting reviews. It isn't the most accurate method but gives you a trend in terms of what is popular.

On Newegg: If you look at the top 10 reviews (based on number of comments) of monitors there is only 1 monitor that is $250-400. Only 1 in the $250-400 range. The other 9 are less than $250. That includes all refresh rates and from 23-27".
On pcpartpicker: Out of the top 20 commented reviews with 8ms or less, 22-27" there is only 3 monitors. Only 3 that are priced $250 or above.

My conclusion is that people are spending ususally $130-200 on monitors. My initial guess of $170 was low, but $200 as a max seems more accurate.
