I understand that Tom's has a focus on enthusiast-class gaming, and appreciate it.
BUT there are clearly lots of gamers that are fine with 1080p @60Hz .... how about something under $250 suitable for that level?

Even better, best candidate for a 5670*1080 setup (i.e. the top resolution in the last SBM), where 60fps is hard enough to achieve at maximum detail, you can get it cheaper than most QHD monitors, and the pixel density is actually usable for non-gaming applications.
I suggest this category require an especially thin bezel, response time under 5ms, and bonus points for portrait orientation, to allow for 3240*1920 setups.

Anyone else want to see this?

It's great that someone did an article on this topic, but these choices stink. I mean, you've got x2 27" 1440p monitors that run ~$1500 listed here. For that money, you can buy a 2013 iMac 27" (1440p) and get all the other other goodies that comes with that. 1440p really should be the new computer monitor standard and it should be readily available on anything over 23", but it isn't. It looks to me like the entire industry has been sitting on its hands for years.

Got a HP Pavilion 23tm on sale for $255 CDN which works out to about $229 USD. Only reason I am posting this is that I purchased one for my wife and I was so impressed that I purchased another for my brother, now I am hoping for a black friday sale to purchase one for myself. No mention of this monitor in Tom's article, but the colors and detail are nothing like I've ever seen before and I feel this is not a well known monitor. It is glossy which I love and is a touch monitor which none of us ever use, but purchased because the solid glass panel in front of the screen makes it look really high end and solid looking. I remember a guy at a retail shop pointing to a ridiculously high priced samsung monitor telling me how high end it is, yet my eyes went to the hp 23tm next to it as it just looked so much better.

Not a comprehensive article. Should be title "best monitors they would send us for review" since the touch section is missing most of the one's people buy and rate on Amazon.com and other sites.

I was just going to rant about your snob attitude but it does say "Best Monitors".
(doesn't change the fact that there's a lot of "nearly as good" monitors for half of your cheapest reviewed model)

I find the pricing here a bit on the high side. It would be nice to see the "value" options in each catagory much like the GPU reviews. IE a Low input lag 75Hz "Gaming Ready monitor", especially as few people's rigs can push higher than 60fps in most titles anyway
