I do agree with most others. There needs to be monitors that are more affordable. I'm using a BenQ GW2255 VA LED and it's fantastic. Contrast ratios are out of this world, and the colors are rich and varied. It's 21.5" with a fast response time (5 or 6 ms I believe) and it has DVI and VGA. Best part? It was $105!!

With the way monitors continually climb down in price and better technologies are afforded, no need to spend half a system on a monitor alone. I'm sure many would agree with me.
 
It's time you stopped focusing on "monitors" and started including HD and UHD "TVs". Same specs at half the price. 39" Seiki UHD TV with 3 HDMI plus for >$500. Got one on sale for $350. 30" is NOT jumbo. I've been using 39/40" "TVs" for years, plus with decent local signals and a good antenna, you have an extra TV when the wife is obsessed with Lifetime.
