I am surprised to see no mention of the HP z27q. A 5k monitor at the price of a high end 4k monitor that comes with wide gamut, 10 bit color and is factory calibrated. I got one and it is amazing.
It might have to do with 16:9 not having any disadvantage when watching movies where as in a 16:10 ratio, your image will be shrunk to fit your screen, with a widescreen movie.
P.S. Where was the ROG Swift in this roundup?
i actually dont know anyone that sits at their pc to watch movies, everyone i know has a tv....or more than one tv.....
The AOC G2460PG (the first monitor on the list) is not $399 on Amazon, right now it is $249.99! I hope that price stays for some time as I want that baby but still can't quite yet afford it.
When that was written in 2013 the G Sync kit was available. As far as I can tell the DIY Kit is no longer for sale. You may want to update the original review as well as this page to point this out.
I have sent an email to ASUS asking if this is still offered. This monitor is my next purchase but if they don't offer that kit then I will have to find another one as close to that price as possible.
Please help! I have a Titan X rig 32gb DDR4 4.0ghz OC'd i-7 (which i will be possibly adding a second titan at christmas, especially if i go with a more demaning resolution)coming to upgrade my older outdated rig and I need a new monitor asap. I've never seen more gain and loss check boxes then buying a new monitor lol. 4k but 60hz, or even 1440p G-sync and 144Hz but TN, curved 34 inch samsung/LG but 60hz and some issues with 21:9 gaming even with the widescreen software for some games that dont support it. Not to mention quality control issues with alot of the gaming monitors of Asus and especially Acer i see with reviews.
I like some of the LG and BenQs but they only support freesync. Gsync isnt a must but i dont want to pay extra for something i cant use. But i do worry about ghosting and screen tearing. I mostly play MMO's, RPG's and some AAA title adventure/action games and smite (really decent competitive 3D moba) and while i dont obsess over FPS i do play some shooters sometimes and i do like them and they will be played sometimes but not hardcore twitch shooting. I have no clue what to get and my new rig will be here thursday june 4th not the 9th so i thought i had more time.
Note: I'm coming from an LG Flatron 27ea63v-p IPS panel 1080p. It replaced my 24-inch 1920x1200 dell moniotr that burned out about a year or so ago so i just needed any replacement quick. The downgrade from 1200p to 1080p was staggering and took awhile to get used to (didnt think such a small drop would matter that much but it did). Whatever i get i dont think i can continue on with 1080p but would be willing to go with 1440p. Help?lol.
The link for the bl3201pt is wrong, it links to the bl3200pt, the old model. Also the bl3201pt is called the bl3201ph in north america and is currently $1000 at the time of this comment at amazon.
