oh good..im a new user for amd chip. before this im more to intel chip. im just now trying to used amd PII 940. with standard cooler, temp for idle session is 55++C (without OC). is it normal temp for amd chip? for me 55c ++ for idle machine is too hot..so any amd maniac here can give me some advice please.. 😀

I has one. I've got it at 3.5GHz, 36C idle, 48C full load with Overdrive stress test.

Im runing the 940, stock fan, and my computer is in my closet with the door closed (not the best place)

With the closet being sealed, it runs at about 42c when i play my games (4x eve-online clients, surfing the web, and teamspeak/vent)(35c idle) when i have my closet open, it runs at about 37c. (30c idle)

this is with the STOCK heatsink/fan

Get a corsair h50, it cools as good as the TRUE but is alot smaller, and doesnt block ram slots.
