Best CPU/ APU right now?

What the title asks. I'm guessing it will be Intel, but I just want to know which CPU can work the best, give me the best performance, and perhaps also the best CPU in price vs performance. I think it's the intel 4790k, but i may be wrong...

There hasn't been much reviews that the new Broadwell is the best CPU on the wrorld. But I believe the i7-4790K is probably the best and 4 cores will be more than enough for gaming. But if you multitask many processors at once then get the Intel Broadwell with 6 cores.

Gaming: i5 4690k << If overclocking.
i5 4460 if not overclocking

if more threads are needed, the xeon e3 1231v3 is a good price/performance cost if you don't need overclocking or the igpu on the i7.
If you want to overclock, then the i7 4790 if you need more threads.

So is the i7 I mentioned the best regardless of what I really want? But yeah thanks for the suggestions shall look into them.

Wel I said i7 because you didn't mention what you want. The i7 is mainly design for faster editing and rendering and in the gaming field, it performs pretty similar.

Like I said the Broadwell CPU by Intel could be the best.
