i've posted this in several forums....
i didn't want to get a q6600 partly because of 1066 fsb, and on the 4th of july my choice was clear because frys had the 9450 w\ a mobo for $250. bought it, sold the mobo for $30 so basically i got my 9450 for around $230 or so...
i got my q6600 the same way (wifes computer lol) it was $180 w\ mobo and sold the mobo for $30.... so it was around 155-160. I haven't really tried oc'ing the 6600 that much. Im pretty nub at oc and only put it to 3ghz.
but back to the topic at hand.... the cooler ! not the cpu ! I spent $140 on a gigabyte galaxy water cooling kit and it keeps the cpu at 20c, the cores usually hang out around 40c regardless of overclock. they went to about 55c under load w\ prime95 but i'm hardly ever using 100% of cpu if ever jajajaja.
also, if you look in the deals threads, somebody posted a week or 2 ago that micro center was selling the 9450 for $280
