Best CPU for an 1155 Mobo?

What would be a great upgraded 1155 Intel CPU I could use with this mobo? I'd like to keep it under 300 to 400.

I've upgraded everything on this build accept my CPU. I've been rocking the i7 2600k for nearly 6 years. I upgraded to a 970 over a year ago, 32 gb ram, this Z77 Mobo, and even my PSU which is around 1k i think.

Harder to find 1155 but look for a 3570k.

Are you seriously suggesting "upgrading" a 2600K to an i5?

@OP, there really isn't a better CPU for that socket. A 3770K is slightly faster per clock and has a slightly higher base clockspeed, but they don't generally overclock as well. If you want something more, you need to change sockets.

Definitely not a good idea to upgrade from i7 to i5.
Stick with the 2600k.
The 2600k is a good overclocker, just try overclocking it and you should reach higher than ivy-bridge performance.

Dang. I upgraded my Mobo lasrt year and was hoping i could then upgrade to a decent cpu in a few years. Would OCing the mobo decrease its longevity?

You don't overclock motherboards. The CPU will almost certainly long outlive its usefulness.
