Hello there. What's the best CPU from AMD for the RTX 3060 under $200? I currently have a Ryzen 5 1600, but it's too weak for the 3060 and because of that it's not performing to its full potential. What can you guys recommend for me?
I have a Biostar A320MH on AM4 socket and 16 gigabytes of Kingston Fury Beast 3200 MHz RAM.Depends on your motherboard, surely it'll accept 5600x? You'll have fun with that. Also what's your ram speed? Would want around 2933 or 3200 16GB minimum 2x 8GB to really benefit.
What about Ryzen 7 5700X?Depends on your motherboard, surely it'll accept 5600x? You'll have fun with that. Also what's your ram speed? Would want around 2933 or 3200 16GB minimum 2x 8GB to really benefit.
Okay then. Thanks.Should work. https://www.biostar.com.tw/app/en/mb/introduction.php?S_ID=912#cpusupport
Update bios before you upgrade cpu.
And what cools your processor?I personally have a ryzen 7 5800x paired with my 3060, and every single game I've played has run fine. Make sure if you're upgrading your cpu, that you also upgrade your cpu cooler if you're upgrading more than a few generations.
I personally have the dark rock pro 4, but what cpu fan you use can also depend on what case you have, do you know the make of your case? And what cools your processor?

OK I understood. I chose Deepcool AK620. What do you say?So you want to look for anything that says all of the following:
TDP of 120w+
It has to be below 155 mm, but try to keep it under 150 mm
AM4 compatible
And then any other specifications, that's up to you. Some cpu fans are louder and spin faster, some are quieter and spin slower. Just depends on what your preferences are. Good luck 🫡
Thats a good pick! Quite a bit higher TDP then you would ever need with that cpu, but it leaves more than enough room to upgrade again in the future!Perfect 👍
