I'm looking for some advice on upgrading my PC.
Right now, I'm running an older Ryzen 5 5600X overclocked to 4.5GHz. I've got 32GB of DDR4 3200MHz RAM, an NZXT N7 B550 AM4 motherboard, and a Kraken AIO cooler. My PSU is 850W and I have an M.2 SSD, so power and storage shouldn't be an issue.
Last year, I bought an RTX 4070 Founders Edition, and I’d like to build the rest of my setup around it. Since I’ve already invested in a solid GPU, I want the rest of the system to match its performance. I mainly play CS2.
I'm unsure whether it makes more sense to stay on AM4 and upgrade to a used Ryzen 7 5800X3D, or to switch platforms entirely and go for a new CPU, motherboard, and DDR5 RAM — possibly a Ryzen 7 7800X3D or the newer 9800X3D.
Hoping some smart folks here can help guide me in the right direction!
