Well the discount isn't that big, it is still the cheapest you can buy this CPU for. OutletPC charges $7.99 shipping on top of that, so it ends at $180.89. Superbiiz and NCIXUS are similar, so $176.99 may only be $4 off but, that is one of the more heavily used Core i5 CPUs and is recommended in builds a lot, so I felt it was worth listing.

I love Newegg and all, but considering these are only being offered by Newegg, I feel the article should be titled best Newegg deals.
Cause there's a 15" IPS Skylake i5 laptop with 8gb of memory, an m2 ssd and a gtx 860m for only $760 on amazon. http://www.amazon.com/Dell-Inspiron-i7559-763BLK-Full-HD-GeForce/dp/B015PYYDMQ

That's a pretty good deal for a roughly $500 computer with a 1080p IPS monitor and keyboard built in.

Thanks for the deal link.

We changed the headline to be more inclusive, because we can (and have, and will) post deals from other sources, including Amazon. (We actually added a couple of Amazon deals, which have now expired, so I'm removing them in a second.)

The bottom line is that we're not beholden to any outlet--we're just trying to find the best deals and get them up, wherever they're from. For this round, we found several good ones on Newegg and went with those. Simple as that. :)

A mail-in rebate is not a deal, by the way, because the sticker price is still what comes out-of-pocket for the consumer. Mail-in rebates are also a pain in the rear, and getting $20 back 6-8 weeks from now is pretty much never worth it.

Vipre Antivirus has some pretty good deals right now. The price decrease is significant on most of their stuff. I'm not sure if the offer is only for existing customers or anyone but it's worth checking out.

Boy, the option to have the rebates credited to your credit card ( They want the ability to track what purchase is made with the card of course.) or sent to your secure shipping address would be great. Not knowing when the card will be delivered and having it sit in your mailbox all day is less than optimal.
Charging you for expedited service is pretty shady also.
I think I might prefer the option of a credit tied to the place of purchase after the proof of purchase is sent in.

The same Samsung 850 EVO 250GB will be on sale at MicroCenter on Black Friday for $69.99. The 500GB model will be $139.99. If a buyer were to bundle an eligible CPU and Motherboard, they would save an additional $10 on either one.

Here's MC's Black Friday ad: http://viewer.zmags.com/publication/413521a7#/413521a7/1

And its November Catalog: http://viewer.zmags.com/publication/431883ed

If you're fortunate enough to live near a MicroCenter store, it is a fantastic place to find some holiday season deals, especially for CPU/Mobo combos. Certain Intel CPUs offer $20-off w/ a motherboard, while certain AMD CPUs offer $40-off with a motherboard. Additionally, MC will usually price match Newegg, TigerDirect, Amazon, Best Buy, etc.

Not sure I agree with you there. I mean, yes, mail-in rebates are a PITA. But I think for some people, that $20 is what gets them under budget for a component or build. When combined with another up-front price drop, that may be a significant savings.

But...yes, MIR are annoying. I never remember to do them.

I give up on Frys.com. They offer discount codes but first their servers are too busy and the browser timed out, then the code takes in the cart but not on the confirmation page. Don't offer deals if you can't enable people to buy them!

I would remove the 4TB HDD deal. The reviews on Newegg are terrible. And if I need a 4TB drive, then that's a lot of data that I don't want to lose. It's only a good deal if it works.

Was disappointed by Newegg's "Deals" this Black Friday. I only saw a few items with discounts from say $45 to $42 or so. A couple bucks off isn't much of a deal, and most items see the same sales throughout the week. I watch them closely. Guess I'll be waiting for the "just after XMas" sales to upgrade a few of my video cards this year.
