Best Desktop Tower for about $1000??

I have a really sluggish laptop. And was looking to upgrade to another laptop with high performance that could handle somewhat heavy-duty video editing workloads since I am a film student. However, I realized Laptops with that kind of performance power are very expensive.

However, I've heard that getting a desktop is far more affordable in terms of processing power etc. I basically just want the best kind of desktop tower that $1000 can buy. Something that has plenty of storage, can handle my large video files and edit without lag. I'm willing to sacrifice the portability of having a laptop for the sake of great performance on a desktop. Also, is there a difference with AMD compared to Intel processors? I just want the best value.

Both intel & amd are good options nowadays.

Assuming youre not interested in gaming or mad keen on windows & led lighting?

Picked something solid & dependable quality wise & went for fairly compact matx format.
Both will just rip through anything you throw at them productivity wise.

Awesome! Thanks for this. I'm not a huge gamer, but would greatly appreciate some smoother gaming performance with it. Something to be able to Run Fortnite especially would be an added bonus. Also what OS are these systems? I'm usually comfortable with Windows 10.
