I'm building a new PIII system and would like to get a dual head graphics card. Interested in pro video editing, Photoshop & After Effects work and games. Is the Matrox G400 still the best one out there, or is the GeForce (or another card) better?

Are you going to use it for 3D? If you are, GeForce2 MX duel head is much better. I saw the benchmark for GeForce2 mx and matrox, and let me tell you, GeForce 2 mx kicked matrox's butt. I bought Leadtek Winfast GeForce2 MX DHPro and it works great. I watch DVD movies on one monitor and do my homework in the other monitor. There are other GeForce2 MX duel head out there, but I bought Leadtek because they were rated as one of the best video card out there and the pirce is good too.

If I were you, I would buy GeForce2 MX Duel head.

Can the MX do 1280 x 1024 on each monitor @ 75hz in dualhead mode? I heard it could only go to 1024 x 768 on each as max for dualhead. That is why i didn't buy an MX. Thanks...

G400/G450 is the best dual head card for you.
but you play games...
what kind of games you usually play ?
coz G400/G450 is not very good in terms of 3D games.
