What is the best low friction cloth mousemat? I used to have a hard one but it scratched my mouse feet, and would make a scratching feeling whenever I moved the mouse on the pad. I need an extended, speed, cloth mousemat preferably under £20
I would like to say there is no real benefit for using one unless you need it. If you have a level, smooth surface (top of a desk) that isnt clear (glass) you really dont need a mousepad.
I use it because it was free, and the keyboard tray in my dorm desk is not smooth. Back home the desk I built has a smooth finish, so I use the desk.
Hello... Go to your local fabric store... I have found "head liner" material very soft, foamed backed, multi-colors, warm to touch and very Low Cost... but there are a lot ways to make a Custom One with some fabric, glue and high/medium density foam.

I'm not sure if there's anything you can really do to prevent your mouse feet from wearing away over time. I have a smooth finished desk (smoother than any mouse pad) and my mouse feet also wore away, I had to buy replacements for them, but it worked.
