I have Spybot S&D, but it's been acting up for years now. And you gotta pay for the new ones.

The free spyware pinned thread has a dead link going nowhere.

Any good recommendations for a SPybot replacement?

You can try malwarebytes.
Just get the free edition and run it occasionally.

If you stay off of the crap websites, WIndows Security is often enough.

For the 'less careful, more adventurous, and/or easily deceived' (like my mother!), I use Kaspersky Free.... (you must endure a weekly popup ad for Kaspersky Secure VPN, however!)
