Best Future Upgrade for My Build?

My current build is :
Athlon x4 760k
GTX 750 (16% OC)
8gb memory
Corsair CX500

I was on a small budget when I built this a month or so ago, and I realize how inadequate it may be for some of the more demanding next-gen titles. With that being said, what should I look to upgrade within the next 3-5 months? I don't think i'll be able to afford to upgrade the CPU, but i'm open to suggestions. Right now my build is GPU limited, so i'm leaning towards getting a better GPU. If I do upgrade my GPU, which one would be the best for my system? Would my PSU be able to support a r9 280 (no 'x')? If not, would a GTX 960/760 be better?
Thanks for any tips :D

Before you even consider a CPU upgrade (to Intel) then you would need a new Mobo (and transfer the windows license) and of course the CPU.

One last thing, what games are you playing that you feel you need the major upgrade? also at what resolution are you gaming at?

A R9 290 (even thought your psu might not hold out for long with it) or a 970 (really power efficient) would give you the best back for your buck at around $350

Hmm. The reason I don't want to do that is because i'm already GPU limited. For example, Crysis 3/Metro LL max out GPU usage, but don't go above 40-70 CPU usage.

Accidentally picked as the solution instead of replying :p
Anyway, I wrote that my budget was 250USD so a 970/r290 is a bit out of my budget. As far as the games I play, I usually play RPG games and MMO's. Some of the most demanding games I will (hopefully) be playing are The Witcher 3, as well as Star Citizen, so i'm going to need all the power I can get.
Please keep in mind i'll be upgrading around April-May, so current prices might change.
Oh, right. My resolution is 1080p.
