HI i read all the post that are here. I am also looking for a gaming head phones that are use for games music movies. i would like a very good headphones i perfer with no mic Unless it comes off. and needs to be 5.1 surround sound. must be very good sound good base.. any good ones for under $100 buxs ?

I would go with the new Speedlink Medusa NX 5.1. I have the older Medusa 5.1 Pro Gamer and they are incredible for movies and games but they had a few problems that i believe have been ironed out with the new Medusa NX.

Do not listen to pidesd. He is ONE solitary voice taking up a lot of space on this forum. Believe me, he is not talking sense. The Medusas give incredible surround sound for games and movies. If you look at the few reviews available on the net you will see the Medusas are rated very highly.

However, the one disadvantage the Medusas have is that they are no good for music. So buy yourself another set of headphones for music and use the Medusas for games and movies.

I use the KOSS KSC75 for music. They only cost me about £12 but they produce better quality sound than headphones costing many times more. See the reviews on the net if you don't believe me.

So my recommendation is Medusa NX 5.1 for games and movies and KOSS KSC75 for music. Buying both will set you back less than $100.

I own the Roccat Kave and the Senn HD650...

I bout the roccat Kave as my HD650 Headband broke and cheapest I have found the band for is £99!!. I figured perhaps I would try the 5.1 system out...

THeya are good for what they are and for the price I would reccomend them.. however in Quakelive i found the 5.1 was not the bonus i was hoping for and combined wiht my Creative X-Fi Fatality sound card I thought I was close to the best setup, however I find myself entertaining ideas of paying for my headband and going back to my HD650's and a desk mic OR buying a set of beyerdynamic's..

I believe Q-Pad did a gaming orientated rebrand of the beyerdynamics...

May Ebay my HD650's and return the Kaves.. (I also have a set of razer piranahs that were sponsored to me by a team, but I currently use them as a mic lol)

Hellfire here from the aussie gaming circuit. while there are many great headsets out there and most people are know getting into name and customised brands i frankly like to stick to cheap and nasty that gets the job done correct. for me i have a few basic rules for headsets.

LAW 1: LOGITECH!!! logitech have always made great gear and there headsets seem to last longer than any other i own. then again i destroy headsets but to go from 5 headsets in 1 month to 1 headset lasting 2 years i would say they do there job

Law 2: USB. screw audio jacks its old outdated tech. you want clear conciece noise cancelatino at up to the nano second speed. minimum USB 2 tech or if you can USB 3 tech.

you can add or remove sub laws from the list liek i must have built in mic on retractable booms and external mute options/heavy bass and be able to hear a butterfly take a dump from across the room while not missing a sound in game.

my current headset i use is a logitech USB clearchat. it was meant to be a skype set but has never let me down. i am however thinking of moving up to the logitech G35 as that is one hot looking headset.

I have a set of the G35's, they are beautiful. They are comfortable and go over your ears so you can wear them for as long as you need to.

You cannot hear too much other than the game, which is really what you want.

I dont use them for much other then games, as I have speakers for movies and music.

The mic quality is great, never had anyone not able to understand me.

The only problem i have is using other headsets, like at net cafes, they are usually just rubbish.

We also have a set of the G330 and they are still pretty good.

I love logitech, they really do make great products, if you get the G35's you wont regret it.

If you're only looking to spend $100 on a surround headset, you'll be buying a polished turd. Break out the money and buy something actually worth having. Did you buy a used NES instead of an Xbox360 because you couldn't afford it? I didn't think so.

would those work with a 7.1 soround card and if yes which one would give the best fps footstep etc and sound quality/ music bass and quality and crispness/ and movie engulfment and suround.
