I am ready for the ultimate gaming pc build!!
Just need help in deciding on which processor and motherboard to get. I brought a maximus hero 8 to pair with a i7 6700k> But it seems like asus are having problems with the boards and memory recognition. I not entirely new to pcs. I can build but ive never installed a os before. My buddy can do it..but if the asus max series of boards are having issues can anyone suggest a nice altenative?
This is what I have so far
i7 6700k
asus maixmus hero 8 mb
G.Skill Ripjaws V Series DDR4 2666 (16GB)
Graphics card: MSI GTX 980 Ti Gaming 6G
Power supply: EVGA Supernova 850 watt G2 80 Plus Gold
Primary storage: Samsung 950 Pro SSD (250GB)
Secondary storage: Samsung 850 EVO (500GB)
Tertiary storage:WD Black 2TB Performance Desktop Hard Disk Drive
CPU cooler: Corsair H90.....Disc drive: LG Blu-ray reader...Asus 24x DVD-RW Serial-ATA Internal OEM Optical Drive
Do I really need skylake if its too new and theyre having problems or maybe go with something a little more tried and true!!
What are all you experts using??

I7-4790k works great for me as a heavy gamer. For the mobo take a look at MSI Gaming 7 or higher

The CPU doesn't care about the ram, only your mobo and voltage do. Honestly I think your doing alot of overkill on your build spending money that will not increase the games performance or quality.

I can play EVERY game on the market ULTRA graphic settings at 60+ fps while watching a blue-ray movie, browsing internet and another game open on 3 monitors no problem. Today I was mining on Eve Online while playing League of legends, music going, twitch steaming, and watching utube skill videos while browsing the internet all at the same time with no loss of fps or lag. This build is a champ!

Ok so I went ahead and built this thing and its a beauty. My Corsair 760t case is a nice big case with plenty of room. Gaming with my x-34 has been a big boon to me..lol.
Anyway I'm having problems maintaining sound from my speakers after I installed my video card. Ive went ahead and enabled my mb sound and have enabled my realtek hd audio as default device but if I turn my system off it doesn't seem to save the changes ive made. I'm not sure if its a win 10 issue a mb issue or what??
