My fx6300 sits on a 760gma-p34.
I currently have 16GB ddr3 and I use a gtx950oc 2GB
I'm looking to better my fps with ultra settings.
I won't upgrade to anymore fx platforms. Then next move will be to an i7. But, I want to complete this build first.

I'm looking at a 1060, but I certainly don't want stuttering caused by bottlenecking.

I am after a gpu that is <9.5 inches

What is your budget? The 1050ti/1060 3gb/1060 6gb would all be suitable. Just depends on how much you want to spend. You can find models of any of those cards that will fit your case.

On that note, apparently it will support the FX-8320/8350/8370 (https://us.msi.com/file/test_report/TR19_2887.pdf).

If I had a nickel for every time a budget AM3+ motherboard officially supported a 125W FX and someone needed help here with throttling issues...

The i7 will be a (second) complete system. I'm not trying to be frugal, lol. I'm looking to complete my fx6300 build first.
My budget for the next system is 3500+ so far. (Been saving awhile). I'll put a 1080ti in the new build.

I've got the gtx 970 in mind for the fx. PIC seems to match up ok.

Didn't think of a 1050 though

While you don't need to be frugal you could sell your 6300/motherboard and get a 3rd/4th gen i7, use it with that 16gb DDR3 & pair it with a GTX 1060 6gb for your second system. It would game quite well at 1080P/60hz for awhile and if your talking about 3,500 USD that will buy you a really nice system.

Whatever you do, don't throw anymore money on your AM3 platform. That would be throw good money after bad. AM3 is dead and was not that great when alive.
