So i have an fx-8350. I wanna get a gtx 1080 but have been informed that it would get bottlenecked by the cpu. So, what is the best gpu that could run all the latest games at max, without being bottlenecked by the cpu? And no, I'm not upgrading my cpu any time soon, I just got it

100% agree. Buying a 4yr old CPU, on a dead platform, was a waste of money. Back when they first came out, they were a pretty stellar alternative. Problem is AMD sat still, and Intel did not. I wouldn't bother beyond a GTX 1060, with an FX CPU, and even that is pushing it, a bit.

CPU: Intel Core i5-6500 3.2GHz Quad-Core Processor ($194.89 @...
first get a very good aftermarket cpu cooler like at least cryorig H5 universal or better
do not overclocked the cpu ...a lot of freezing issues with it

any gpu from gtx 1060 and up will run all games , but only a high demanding cpu games will be bottlenecked

Depends on the game. Wouldn't pair a GTX 1070 or 1080 with an FX-8350, unless you're upgrading to Intel soon.

For example, a GTX 1080 costs ~600 dollars and higher. For that, an upgrade to an Intel CPU, motherboard and GTX 1060/RX 480 graphics card is better value for money.

Bad timing for an FX-8350 though 😛

I would just get the gtx1060. it wont hurt that the cpu bottle necks the some. it just means the gpu will run a bit cooler because its not at 100% load all the time.

fyi I run a r290x power color(running at its factory oc profile) with my 8350 oc to 4.8ghz. and to me they seem balanced. so really any card ranked above that chance are the cpu is what will hold u back. but I still would get a better card just because it will save you on power usage.

I have an fx 8350 as well and I'm using an rx460 I've had no problems playing any of the latest games. Haven't really noticed any bottlenecking. The new ghost recon: Wildlands works fine, gtav works great. I think the rx 460-80 are perfect for that cpu

Honestly I would go with an RX 480, either the 4GB or 8GB version, doesn't really matter too much, unless you're playing above 1080p, in which case definitely 8GB. But that CPU is such a bottleneck that I wouldn't bother spending good money on a GPU until you refresh your system to a Ryzen 1400 or better CPU.
