So I decided to upgrade my gpu from gt 630 1gb to something better. I dont want to change any other parts other than gpu.

Here's my desktop parts:

Cpu: i5-2320 3Ghz
Ram: 4 GB DDR3
Motherboard: H61M-DS2 REV 1.2
PSU: 350W
GPU: GT 630 1GB

I looked it up on compatibility checker and on there it told that my mother bord(there wasnt my exact model so i picked closest one h61m ds2) wasnt compatible it showed that the only 10xx was comatible with was 1080/1080ti

Will it bottleneck my cpu? Is there anyway to check that?

your cpu is good enough to run a better gpu, so the answer is yes

for your budget and resolution a gtx 1050 ti is great ( make sure you buy one that does NOT need a 6-pin pcie cable )
it would be POINTLESS to get a better gpu at that super low crap resolution

+1 if you monitor is only VGA, then you will also need an powered adapter ( active )

also make sure your motherboard bios is up to date
