I'm looking to upgrade my GeForce GTX 750 Ti in my [old] gaming PC, but I want to make sure my CPU can handle it. I have a 4th gen i5-4670K CPU @ 3.40GHz (Win 10, ASRock Z87 Killer mobo, SSD HDs, 24 GB RAM). I'm looking at the GeForce 1060 and 1070 Ti. Is the 1070 Ti worth the price difference given my CPU?

Honestly the 750 Ti still runs most game perfectly fine, but I don't mind spending a few dollars on a GPU upgrade to get a couple extra FPS.

Worth is something only YOU can determine.

Your i5-4670K is still a very capable gaming processor.
More so if you overclock.
Few games can effectively make use of more than 2-3 threads.

Try this experiment:
Run YOUR games, but lower your resolution and eye candy.
If your FPS increases, it indicates that your cpu is strong enough to drive a better graphics configuration.
If your FPS stays the same, you are likely more cpu limited.

I am guessing that you will benefit from a better graphics card.
Particularly if you favor fast action games.

GTX1060 will be a very nice upgrade.
That said, if you have the budget, consider the GTX1070ti.
If you pass on the stronger card you will forever wonder if you did the right thing.

Thanks for the responses. Sounds like my CPU can handle either, but I will try geofelt's suggestion just in case. Given the price difference, 1060 6GB is the way to go for a quick & cheap upgrade. Now I just have to navigate all of the different variations! Especially from EVGA!
