Hey all, I recently got into building my own pc about 2 months ago and it has been... addictive. I'm curious on what your opinions are on what I can pair my Ryzen 5 2600x cpu with to get the highest FPS in game. I mostly play mmo's, such as archeage and wow, and i'm thinking about getting into FF14 online. I want to get something better than this 1650. I was thinking about getting an RTX 2070 super, but I wanted some opinions first on what would be best for the highest possible FPS with the R5 2600x. Thanks for hearing me out.

Actually i had the 5700xt a week ago. After installing and updating everything i ran some games and it was giving me some terrible stuttering and honestly not really much better fps than my 1650. Could have just been a bad product i guess, or maybe i did something wrong.. Idk..

the reason why I specifically recommended you that exact 5700 XT card was because people didn't get the same issues that they got with different 5700 XT cards, the card I recommended is more reliable than other 5700 XT cards, you can take a look at the reviews for yourself:https://www.amazon.com/Gigabyte-Gra...hild=1&keywords=5700+xt&qid=1588212053&sr=8-2

this card has also been ranked...
MMOs are much more CPU-heavy.

What monitor do you have?

I'd wait till later this year for next-gen AMD and Nvidia GPUs if you can.
I'm currently running 2 AOC 144hz 24 inch monitors. We are actually heading to micro center on saturday to pick up our upgrades. I'd like to upgrade sooner than later. Would it be better to upgrade to a better cpu? Like the ryzen 5 3600 or 3600x?

I found the perfect GPU for you and your processor, you're going to want to get an RX 5700 XT, but to be exact, your going to want to get a
RX 5700 XT Gigabyte Gaming OC 8GB

it's just as powerful as a 2070 super AND its cheaper, an RTX 2070 super easily costs 500+ but the RX 5700 XT gigabyte gaming oc 8GB only costs 400.

the RTX 2070 super is only around 3% more powerful, is it worth paying all that extra money for a 3% performance boost?

another thing to mention, RX 5700's are known to have heating issues, but this aftermarket model seems to have resolved that issue.

edit: if your processor is ever having trouble, make sure to try to overclock your processor since the recommended processor for the RX 5700 XT is a 2700x not a 2600x, but it's not too far of a leap were you're going to get a crazy amount of bottlenecking

this card has also been ranked the best overall RX 5700 XT card as well, and hey, if it doesn't run the way you expected or wanted it to, you can always return it right?

this is the best bang for the buck high-end GPU, if your curious the best band for the buck mid-range GPU would have to be the RX 580, same performance as GTX 1060 but a good bit cheaper, the RX 580 (at least the RX 580 8GB sapphire nitro+) has pretty good oc potential, the stock is 1340MHz but I got mine to oc to 1500MHz and it's incredibly stable and extremely cool, almost never raises above 55c

but like I said, just try that exact GPU I recommended you, if that doesn't work out for you, you can always get it returned

another thing I want to mention, AMD cards have this super cool feature called "virtual super-resolution" this is what it does: "allows applications to render at resolutions higher than the displays native pixel grid and then scales images down to fit the display. produces higher quality visuals at the expense of performance"

so even if you have a 1080p display, when you have this setting enabled you are able to set the game's resolution up to as high as 4k, and let me tell you, it makes the game look AMAZING. you should look into it for yourself

i don't think you will be needing a new processor anytime soon, your processor already has 6 cores, and getting one with 8 isn't going to do much for you, you will barely notice any difference at all.

Thankyou. I will think about this. Yes if it doesn't work i can return but usually there is a restocking fee. The one i returned was an msi 5700. I was worried it may be caused by the issues amd was having with the drivers. Thus, i was trying to avoid amd gpus. But I'll think on this

my computer used to crash constantly and i thought it was my and drivers as well, but one of my ram sticks ended up being faulty, asides that, my and card has been working perfectly, asides the usual crashes after doing crazy stuff.. like accidentally overclocking my gpu an extra 100MHz lol

one last thing I want to mention, if that GPU gives you trouble, I will be willing to scratch my precious steel backplate of my GPU
