Best graphics card

I am looking to buy a new graphics card but I am not sure what my computer can handle. My computer is pretty old. Could someone please tell me whats the best gaming card that my computer can run without problems? My computer only has 300W.

Can you open the case and look at the PSU? There should be a sticker on it with some specs listed. Please post how much amperage you have on the +12V rail.

You can get something like the 6570, it will surely run on your PSU and will fit comfortably in your micro-ATX motherboard. The question is, is it worth the upgrade? Your CPU will bottleneck pretty much anything above the 6570 and you will not get good performance at all with that rig if you want to play games. It would be best if you could save up and buy a new rig...

What games and resolution do you plan to play at? And as auntarie has stated, your computer is very outdated and will be hard pressed to run any recent games at any settings.

There is nothing wrong with HD 6*** series graphic card and HD 6570 is a good graphic card ( i own it ). The minimum requirement for this card is a 400 w PSU.

400W for a 6570? Wow. I could have sworn it was more power efficient than that.

I wouldn't bother with an upgrade at this point. And I wouldn't trust putting to much of a card on a 300 watt prebuilt power supply, and while I only scimmed I couldn't find a mention of the psu.

You can always try a low profile card, and maybe hold onto but don't expect miracles out of that machine.

buy a new system after the 4th gen intel's and the 700 series NVIDIA's come out (that's when prices on current hardware will drop)

I suggest you download and use GPU-Z to confirm whether or not the PCI-E slot on the mainboard is version 1.x or 2.0. (Look for the "Bus Interface" box on the "Graphics Card" page.) If it's a 1.x slot, it's unlikely that any PCI-E 2.1- or 3.0-based card (AMD HD5000-, 6000-, or 7000-series cards) will even work in that system. Very few older mass-produced systems received a BIOS update to enable the use of 2.1 cards in 1.x-equipped systems, and all AMD cards released since 2009 have been PCI-E 2.1 or 3.0. (HD4000-series or older AMD/ATI cards were 2.0, and all but the newest 600-series nVIDIA cards are 2.0.)

A PCI-E 2.0 card should/might work in that system. If you can find an old HD4650 or 4670, they should work within your power requirements. You can also consider GT-series nVIDIA cards, such as the GT240, 430, or 440, as they're also relatively low-power PCI-E 2.0 cards.

Games before 2008 are pretty easy to run (except Crysis, of course) so you should be able to get about medium settings on most of them with that rig. But you won't be able to play almost any modern games 🙁

Get your self a AMD trinity based processor with motherboard and a Decent 450w psu

- AMD A series Trinity APU has a discrete Radeon HD 7*** series graphic cores
- Both motherboard and the processor will come with a decent price tags
- you will be able to play any game with medium to high settings
- You will have to buy a DDR3 RAM (necessary upgrade)
- 450w PSU will avoid bottle-necking



Now that surely will solve all the problems

His motherboard maxes out at 2GB of ram. It is never a good idea to start sinking hundreds into an old prebuilt like this one...

Indeed he is best off just building a gaming rig instead of upgrading a office computer.
