You might've missed that window already, I saw prices on the 260x, 270, etc jump $20-$30 this morning on Amazon. I know because I had a 260x in my cart for $93, was gonna buy it when I got paid Monday, now it's $115.

I'm a little pissed...that card isn't worth that much.

Noticed a couple potential mixups on the performance page/graph, "while the Radeon R9 270X takes top honors under $200" - the price on the graph shows it at $266. Also I've always assumed everything was listed in order of avg. performance, but the R9 280 is above the GTX 760 which does not does not perform as well in either resolution.

i have a gts 450 and have been wanting to upgrade for some time. i was wondering if now is a good time to buy a new card, considering tonga is around the corner. i figure this might force price changes. i don't know if i would go the amd route since everyone complains about drivers and heat. i was looking at the GTX 770 and wondering if that's a good choice for a card. i keep thinking i should wait. any thoughts?

it's about the same as a gtx 770 they are offering for 304bucks. is/are these worth it or should i just wait for the release of the tonga gpu's?

You are asking the age old question. To wait, or not to wait. There real question is can you want? Do you need the GPU power now?

regardless of pricing, one of the more annoying factors with these articles is that whenever looking at a given price bracket (i.e. $300) is that it's a real pain to reference OLD test/review articles to judge whether (personally) I would like to lay down a few extra bucks to goto a product that didn't make the cut.

example: I'm shopping the 280x vs 770 vs 290. Most of the articles referenced are from releases when the 770 isn't available, and/or the 770 article doesn't show aggregate performance to the 290/780, etc so i have to go back n' forth trying to figure out if maybe I'd personally like to just spend an extra $30-40 for the cooler-running nVidia card, or, if at that price point I'm too close to 290 territory, and/or vice versa/ I know the 770's slower than the 290(duh) but i don't know how close it is to the 280x on these things to make a personal choice at the given price tier. am i making any sense?

sweet jesus, i'm in your situation. i decided to wait for tonga and see if prices change. if tonga doesn't come out, or if prices don't change i'm just gonna wait for maxwell. thing is i can wait, you probably can't. i did notice the r9 290's price drops though. that just gives me the itch.

In the section where you discuss multi card configurations. Why would you recommend/mention 2 x GTX760 for $500, when you can get the same or better performance for $400 out of 2x R9 280. With deals, you can get 2 x R9 280x for right around $500, lol.

just a little question, why would anyone get GTX 780 to, or titan or anything powerful like that?! only reason is multi monitor gaming, right?
