Best graphics game

Half Life 2 Episode 2, Empire Total War, Splinter Cell Conviction, Arkham Asylum, Mass Effect 2, Shift 2, Black Ops & Crysis 2 are the best looking games I've played so far. Crysis 1 looked real old compared to Crysis 2. I uninstalled Crysis 1 as soon as Crysis 2 was up and running on my PC.

Just Becuase A Game "Kills Your Machine" doesn't mean it's bad.

If it kills your machine Lower the graphics. And play through the game which has a decent story, great gameplay.

Metro 2033 An Amazing Game, On DX11 Maxed out "Kills Your Machine" But It's Still an Amazing Game. You can't just say a Game is bad/"Gay" Because you can't play it.

Very few games look really bad, so saying CoD games look worse than Crysis, or Metro, or Just Cause 2 or whatever your poison is, it sounds like running into fanboy-ism, especially when it's spread across multiple posts or threads. Every game looks good in its own way; one only has to consider the time of their release, the consumer segment it was targeted at, the engines of those games and so on.

So stop bashing each other's heads, it's just a thread where one can post their OWN idea of a best looking game, not everyone else's, we don't have to agree, but agree to disagree.

I love the way Bioshock looks like for instance, or first Max Payne, even System Shock 2. Or you're going to tell me now "eww... Crysis looks a million times better" again?

Beauty is in the eye of the beholder.

I thought this thread said " best graphics game" not " hey everyone is special in their own way" thread. Crysis and metro pushed the boundaries for graphics in their day and still today. So if im a " fanboy "of great effects and high res textures then I guess you can call me that. Liking the art direction in a game doesn't mean it has good graphics. That's a totally different subject matter

Not really, I was merely expressing my opinion on a game some one mentioned. Not once did I degrade (I think that's the word you were trying to spell when you said denigrate) the wee lad's opinion or him in light of his opinion. I was just mentioning that the cod series resembles tightly coiled piles on my back lawn. My dogs should be game designers for Activision to make modern military shooters. See? That wasn't negative towards his opinion, but expressing my own about the game.

It is his opinion that MW2 looks "Beautiful" But you have to look at the facts and the actual game.

If we had a screen shot of MW2's Prettiest Moment and then a Picture of Crysis's Prettiest Moment Which would you say is better? No Doubt Crysis

Why do you think Crysis Is so hard to run. Because the High Res Shadows, The High Res Textures and Etc, MW2 Or any COD game has A lot Lower Res Textures and Shadows, That's why it's a Simple Game To Run, Compared to Crysis

So I Can Accept Some Opinions But Some Are Just Very Wrong. For This Thread at least, But I'm not going to Bash/Hate on anyone for that.

A Opinion I could understand is "I Think Metro 2033 Looks Better Than Crysis" A lot of People find Crysis looks better but I find that false (My Opinion) because Metro 2033 is 90% in the tunnels and doesn't give you to much diversity compared to Crysis but it's still a prettier game to me (I Love shadows and metro 2033 shadows are awesome)

Now Hopefully we Can Stop the Hate here.

I think this thread continues to confuse art direction with graphic quality.

Graphic quality has quantitative attributes, and art direction is purely subjective. "Better graphics" means high-poly models, high-res textures, long draw distances, dynamic lighting and shadows, etc...

It isn't an opinion that Crysis has better graphic quality than BioShock, it's a fact. Now, you might prefer the art direction from BioShock or Half-Life, which is just dandy. I actually think a thread on games with our favorite art direction might be more interesting.

If there is one game remakes I want would be Kingdom Hearts Final mix in english 1 and 2 and a remastered ff7 and I would say those are the best games EVER made. Also PCSX2 is a PAIN to run on a pc.

No one cared about graphics till 2006. And we all know it's true. Graphics don't make a game, Like ff7 greatest RPG EVER and yet I still have my ps1 and play it or the Kingdom hearts. You Kids judge graphics. Crysis is a game that is a killer. Go play a real game like KH or FF7. Hell sure some of you don't even know what those games are.
